Hello guys, I am a newbie I did some work on fake skin with coil machines that I received from my friend. My plan was to buy Cheyenne hawk thunder drive, I have saved up around £800 for the machine, power supply and pedal. I want to buy something so I can tattoo please with the machine in the future. Honestly, I never tried rotary machines but I feel like its an option for me.
I am looking for a machine that will do a great job at lining and shading at the same time, there is an option for the bishop wand.
I know those machines are for professionals and I am nowhere near intermediate. I spoke to some artist and they said not to get a penlike machine as they are not that good and breaks easily.
the only problem with Cheyenne is the price for cartridges. Also one of the tattooists told me to get something cheaper as I will be practising on the fake skin and this can damage machine because of how hard fake skin is.
I am up for any suggestions I am an open-minded person.

Thanks for your time.

The Cheyenne Thunder is an awesome machine ,I would definitely recommend it , you don’t have to use Cheyenne carts as long as the carts you do use have a membrane, also the machine will come with a warranty for a year ,so if you damaged it on fake skin you will be able to get it fixed for free , I would get a Critical power supply instead of the Cheyenne one as it’s more versatile, also you can get really good Cheyenne grip copies from Ez that cost a 1/4 of a Cheyenne one or you can get some good disposable ones fairly cheap too

Buy the CNC Q2, save the extra money. They are like $160 and ive been running mine for maybe 5 months or so, usually 4 hour sessions and it hasnt massed a beat. TexasPT uses one too and he can vouch for them.

It's great to hear that you're taking the time to save up for a tattoo machine and investing in your passion for tattooing. It's completely understandable that you want a machine that will do a great job at both lining and shading, and I think it's wise of you to consider all of your options, including rotary machines like the Bishop Wand.

Sorry for breaking into the discussion so late, but I couldn't resist ciming in. Trying out rotary machines could be a great idea! I think it's wise to consider the cost of cartridges as well as the durability of the machine. Cheyenne is a great brand, but there are also other options out there that might suit your needs and budget better.
