Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there new of a good brand of ink for grey wash. I live doing black and grey but I used a company that all the grey wash gradients were all black! None were grey lol

??? all their greywash gradients were black? They all look black in the bottle and ink caps but are different shades when tattooed.
You can always make your own grey shades, there are many videos on you tube about the subject, it's just a matter of adding distilled water to black ink in the ink cup or add white to black to make grey.
I personally like to use the pre mixed greywash sets because the shades of grey are the same every time, whereas mixing your own can change the darkness of the shade depending on the size of ink cup you're using or what the ratio is between black ink and water, some people count the drops of ink they put into the ink cup and some just go by eye, using 1/4 ink cup, 1/2 ink cup of ink and adding water.
This is Tattooing 101 forum, watch tattooing 101 Youtube channel....heaps of good videos there.

Yeah, straight up I did a tattoo with with it, and every single gradient came out the same. Then I went online and started looking about the brand that I used and a bunch of people had the same complaint; one of them said all four of their gray washes were completely black, they just kept them for lining. So I just went back to fusion ink and diluted it myself like I used to always. I just decided to try a gray wash set for some reason and yeah it wasn’t a good one. Haha.

SELF-MIXED GREY WASHES UK
I registered a new place in the UK recently and this topic came up with the environmental health inspector who was considering my application.

She said that ‘they’ (health authorities) preferred artists to use pre-mixed grey washes from reputable suppliers. However, as I told her I mixed my own, the condition strongly implied was that this is done tattoo by tattoo and discarded after each tattoo, and NOT mixed in the studio and stored in bottles. I guess this is about sterility of liquid containers and the risk of some contamination/impurities in the process, potentially becoming more hazardous over time.

I do mix tattoo by tattoo, but as this topic popped up, perhaps something to consider.
