Hi, its me again asking for tips hahaha, so everytime i tattoo, my stencils gets washed away pretty quick, ive seen videos where people people doesnt get the skin all stained with the ink, and even when that happens, they clean and the stencil stays (which isnt my case :c ) can you give me some tips so my stencil last longer? I dont know if its the vaseline im using, or maybe im using too much vaseline, or idk, so please give me your tips :)!, Ill try to explain my "stencil routine" so you can get the picture or give me some feedback.
(The way i do it is, clean the area with alcohol, shave, use stencil stuff, let it dry a few minutes, and then apply vaseline when tattooing, but everytime, my ink stains all the skin and when i clean, the stencil washes away really quick)

I also use alcohol after shaving, then i dont use any for the rest of the session. I think you irritate it more if you use it befor the shave.

Use very small amounts of stencil stuff, less than you think (check youtube). I let it dry for 15-30sec, when it feels sticky but not wet i apply the stencil.
Then I set up my machines, the longer you wait the better, minimum 10mins.

And make sure you dont use any green soap or any other product with alcohol on the stencil.

When tattooing start from the bottom n work your way up so you dont rub it with your machine hand.

There's really something with rubbing the skin with alcohol...
Rub it like you're gonna erase the skin, hard!
Logically, you'd shave first because hairs are not clean by essence.
Then, there's seem to be 2 schools, the ones leaving the stencil (paper) on the skin for 10+ mins, and the ones who will take the paper off and let dry for 10+ mins.

For me, i let the paper sit.
I only used the spirit liquid and spirit paper and after i rubbed the skin with alcohol, it lasted!

Peace,

DKJ

This may be a question of technique but I need to know something : Are you left handed or right handed?
When the stencil gets messy quickly odds are there are a few things causing it -

1. Youre smudging the stencil by going the wrong direction with your hand [angles.]
2. Your collecting way too much ink into your tube / needle combo or cartridge.
3. You're using entirely too much vaseline and wiping into the stencil and not away.

There's a lot of reasons that a stencil can get muddy with ink.

The best way to practice avoiding this is by using your machine / needle setup on practice skin and practicing it on there with a stencil using dettol to make it stick to the fake skin.

Also, if your machine is spitting ink out of the tube before you hit the skin, you put too much ink into the tube and this will also cause the issue because you can't control where the ink goes.

You always want to work from the bottom of the stencil up.

Please tell me, can there be any problems when applying a tattoo on the skin that has undergone laser hair removal? I have been tattooing for only a few months, and I always do as they advise here: first I shave, then I rub the skin with alcohol, and then the process goes according to the usual scheme. But I have a client after laser hair removal for the first time. She assured me that after visiting a website the hair doesn't grow back for a long time, lol. I'm ready to believe her, but I need to know how to prepare properly. She went through it a week ago, but I sincerely don't understand if I should try to shave the hair that is starting to break through her skin. I need help.

I don't have any experience with Laser hair removal, but I would assume that after the treatment there should not be any hair for you to worry about, if the skin is unaffected such as laser burning etc, I can't really see a problem with tattooing the area. Personally, I would wait for as long as possible after the treatment to ensure that there is no problem with the skin, as for shaving the hair, if it has regrown after the removal treatment I would prepare the area as normal, clean, prep and shave. If there is no apparent hair in the area, I would shave it anyway, just to remove fine hairs if any and to clean the area to be tattooed.

I'm sure that would be a reason to suspect something like that, yes. But I don't see any links or web addresses? 🤔 Or maybe our dear fellow DKJ already deleted it? 🤔
