Hello,

This is my first attempt at tattooing fake skin. I didn't draw the picture, I just found the photo and switched out a strawberry for cheese. Only have black ink right now. I ordered a white so next time I can make those leg and eye stuff pop without just leaving skin. I accidentally ordered 05rl's only. Thought I ordered a variety, so that's all that I used in the photo. I used a Mast Archer machine and a mast cartridge. I have a few question's and would love some constructive criticism. I found this to be harder than I thought but I think I'm hooked.

1. Best way to clean smudgy fake skin. I read vaseline does the trick and it does kinda work, but I also took up a lot of ink and had to reapply. Anything else work better? I was dabbing often but still managed to get ink everywhere.

2. The stencil still shows in a few places is that common?

3. I was running most of my lines at around 7.5-8 and when I was trying whip shading stuff I ran at like 6.5. Thoughts on those setting?

4. I have a variety pack coming. What cartridges would you have used on this bee?

Any feedback would be great, thanks for taking a look!

Hey :)

really good first go !
especially on that crap fake skin .
Get some reelskin , so much better .
I started on that crap fake skin and had to constantly use Vaseline before and after I put needle to skin .
really good job for that skin though .

what 5rl are you using ? What # ?

Yea the stencil will stay on fake shin , not like human skin . On human skin the stencil hopefully lasts the length of the Tatto.
you want it gone then leave the skin on a plate with a bit of bleach over it , will remove the stencil .

Voltage of machine is a tricky one , depends on your hand speed .
Lots of YouTube videos on it . Have a google .
You want to be outing the ink in the skin , but not cutting the skin , you can cut if volts are to high and hand speed to slow . Also if hand speed to fast and volts to low not enough ink going in .
When you get reel skin , I’d start on a low voltage , run a line and see if it’s solid . If not up the volts and try again until line is solid . Then check you haven’t cut the skin .
Youl get it with time mate .

for now , if focus on lining and have a play with a mag .
start with simpler tattoos .
basic ones . Try and make the lines crisp and smooth .
Have a play with whip shading and pendulum shading .

don’t worry about white ink . Crap on fake shin and don’t rely on it to give you highlights for the moment . Use negative space with you black ink .

really good practice though mate !
Stick with it .

Yeah the skin I bought is really thin. I watched some videos on the reel skin and looks to be much thicker and higher quality. I'm ordering some now.

I used a MAST 1205RL
.35mm, .5mm T

I really appreciate the feedback man, thank you. I'll check those guys out.
