Which needle/cartridge should I use for filling in color? I currently have round liner and shaders and use a dragonhawk machine. I tried to use to round liner for my own tattoo but it took a very long time and was causing some more skin damage than I’m used to as I kept having to go over the same areas so many times. Should I use a shader or is there a different type I should buy to finish it and to use in the future?

Get yourself some magnums and round shaders......start with 5RS, 9RS, 7CM (curved magnum) 11Cm (until you are proficient with these, then you can move onto different sizes)
Curved Mags can be used to fill larger areas, only use RS for smaller areas or tight corners that are hard to get at with a mag.
Practice on fake skin.
Only use a Liner needle to colour fill tight points as you are lining (i.e like inside points of stars if the stars are going to be solid colour)
The clue is in the name...Liner....as in to be used for lines

Thank you so much! Would a 5RM/CM be okay or is that too small and I need to get the 7? I knew a liner wasn’t the right one but I couldn’t find any information on what was the right one to use so I tried it anyways as I didn’t know what the right needles to order would be.

The sizes that I mentioned are what I started out with, they worked for me...The smaller CM's (i.e fives and sevens) are for small areas, but can be used for larger areas but just take longer to do and could cause skin damage....I currently use a 5CM for small areas.
When filling with colour, use a oval/circular motion with a slow hand speed for better saturation.

Okay, thank you! I do already do the circular motion so I’m glad that’s right! I will go ahead and get the ones you recommended. I really appreciate all the help, thank you!
