Infection?

I have been tattooinf for 2 months now and I never really have an issue but someone got a tattoo 2 days ago and just took off the second skin and her tattoos (esp areas filled in with mag needle) are a bit red. Is this just healing or is it infected/she should go see a doctor? I have done around 50ish tattoos now mainly with liners and never have much of an issue. But last time I did something with color and mag needle, this type of similar result occurred. She just took off the wrap so she couldn't have gotten it infected herself so I want to know if its anything I am doing wrong. Of course, I sanitize and when switching colors, I clean the needle with a disposable cup with sterile water. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. ): Could I possibly be overworking the skin and entering too many times with the mag? Seems like this issue only occurs when I have color and a mag needle involved. She said shes not in pain, just some soreness which she has experienced with previous tattoos. What do you mean you sterilized between colors? And she very easily could have got an infection under that second skin, depending on what part of the country you live in those things can be a petri dish. Do you not have anybody apprenticing you? Without seeing a picture of the tattoo it's impossible to tell if it's infected or not and be on the safe side send her to the doctor ,all of this should have been covered by who was ever apprenticing you. In Tennessee where my shop is, tattooing outside of a shop is illegal as hell especially without an authorized apprenticeship. The board of health inspector here will come after you.
