Hi evryone just to find out how others look after there tattoos when there finished, some say cling film for a hour or so.Me personally i use yes kitchen roll either prep H,Bepanthem, find these very good for healing and itching,Iuse the cream for 2-3 days then every other day on the 5-6 day its just flaking off. Some people might find other things and ways but as long as you look after it the colours ect shold stay nice.I dont wash it for a day just dab it with clean water, then cream seems to work for me....After the tatoo i also throughally clean all equipment even my machines even if not used a good squirt of detol then k/towel dry tips pipe wash in ultra sonic, then again in surg/spirits pipe wash, then steam clean twice for 15mins then 20 in pouches;Dont do needles just use new all the time then put in needle box, i my self thing there cheap enough to buy rather than stererlise.

i dont think people do staralise old needles m8 this is a defo no the only time people steralise needles is after they have made them there selfs.
when i send someone away after doing a tattoo i wrap em up in cling film its just to pretect the tattoo till they get home.I have a big box of tattoo goo it contains meny little tubs i tell them to put it on till skin has fully healed this is the best stuff by far i think.it has natural vitamins an oils that work perfect together

I also feel letting air to it helps not to keep it to moist.im using bepenthen now on my tatt it doesnt scap it just flakes after three to four days and does not draw out ink like goo does sometimes..Try it mate asda *£2.00. KEEPS YOUR TATTOO THE WAY YOU HAVE JUST TATTOOED IT EVEN THE COLOUR STAYS GREAT.

i swear by prep h, though if your doing say a large back piece you can get through massive amounts during the healing process, and its not that cheap

i have always used bepanthen cream, its designed for babies so much better on the skin and i would highly reccomend it to anyone with sensetive skin.

try using e45 or aqueous cream lot cheeper than other creams and works as good also if a shower is taken as soon as possible after the tat is done helps to heel the tat really well have the shower as hot as you can take for a good 10 mins

Thank's for advice! I think it make sense to use cream like this
Welcome to the forum, but did you see the date of the last post? 2009, a little bit outdated I'd say.
Btw, how come you have a Dutch flag on your avatar when you're in New York?????? Just curious...

The first tattoo I got which was about 30 years ago by a famous Australian artist called Tony Cohen. His advice was not to touch it and no cream of any sort. It healed perfectly. Since then I have always used bebanthem but I have done some tests lately just leaving it and letting it dry out. And to be honest I can't see much difference.
