New tat might be infected ?
Got my tat 2 days ago when I left the shop i had the saran Wrap for 2 hours. After the 2 hours I rinsed the blood and other body fluids that I built up in the wrap I used to warm water, hospital grade antibacterial soap and dried softly. my tat artist said to use lubriderm 3 times a day so I did for the first day when I went back to work my coworkers said that I had to cover it up with tegaderm and aquaphor so I did I ended up switching its now day 2 and it’s a little bit less swollen but it’s still swollen no pus or blood coming out. But I do see that I have some sort of rash or something near my elbow area not even near the actual tat I’ve had a tegaderm film all day today at work I just got home and rinsed with soap and water it feels much better instead of having the tat wrapped but I’m took scared now to go to work with it open I’m not sure if it’s healed or not please help me I don’t want to lose my arm ?

so you listened to your buddies at work instead of the guy who tattooed you. Would you go to your tattoo artist and him how to do your job?

some people have reactions to tegaderm. Sounds like you're one of them. Infections typically have a hot red skin that is tight to the touch. if you have this, go to the doctor.

Do NOT rewrap a tattoo. You should have listened to your artist. Leave it open, lubriderm is fine. If its too dry use aquaphor for a few days then switch to the lubriderm. Do not rewrap it.

Do NOT rewrap a tattoo. You should have listened to your artist. ... Do not rewrap it.

When i tattoo myself I sleep with a wrap first night, then I clean it in the morning and rewrap it with a tiny bit of ointment.
I do dirty physical work, wraping it is a must.
When I get home I clean it n let it breathe for the rest of the day, no wrap at night.
Work day #2 is 50/50 on the wrap depending on how it looks.
Ointment goes on sparsely the first few days and more often when it get crusty.

I'm I doing it wrong?

do they heal nice? then no. :)

wrapping is creating an environment for bacteria to grow...that's my only challenge with what you do. Petri dishes are sealed...with bacteria in them so it grows faster. Just sayin'. :)

Yeah, they heal nice. My work clothes are straight up nasty, so i cant really skip wraping the first day or two.
Thanks for the info ?
