I used Bepanthen on my tatt and it took layers of skin off.
So now I use tattoo goo as my doctor told me some people have bad reactions to nappy rash creams.

I did a foot tattoo on a friends daughter and she used bepanthen and her foot and it swoll up so she switched to E45 (an antiseptic cream for nappy rash, eczema and such) and that did the trick. Just goes to show that some people can be allergic to some forms of creams depending on the ingredients.

True about different skins etc my baby can't have E45 on her skin... apparently a lot of people can't because of the lanolin oil.

She has atopic eczema (we didn't know at the time just thought she had dry skin) I put it on her one night before bed after a bath and about an or 2 hours later she woke up screaming and had soaked her blankets and the cot... thinking she had wet and nappy had leaked i went to change her... ended up having to peel the baby grow carefully off her relieving what looked like burnt skin that had been weeping...

I cleaned her up and held her up and her legs were just dripping where they were weeping... I was on the verge of tears myself for having done it to her even though obviously I was unaware she would react.

Took nearly 8 months of begging to get to see a dermatologist that straight away looked and said what it was and that our gp had been treating the symptoms rather then trying to stop the cause. So now we have to put on like a Vaseline all over her body every 2/3 hours.

A little off topic I know but highlights how different peoples skins are as me and my mrs are both ok with e45 so are our other children but shes not. This also applies to how people react to inks as we've seen/heard bout.

This was how I found her.

really feel for your little baby David.. I was born with atopic excema and my skin pretty much all over was one big scab right up til I was 14 until some bright spark gave me hydrocortisone. Gone overnight. Not good for babies as it's steroidal, but cured me and changed my life pretty much immediately. I still have to be super careful what I put on my skin. Bepanthen ain't too bad, but I'm allergic to E45 too.. didn't used to be, just one day my body decided to reject it. Ask your doctor if he would recommend diprobase for your baby.. it's quite soothing and I think it's ok for kids..
