Hi people, I hate the feeling of clingfilm on my fresh tattoos, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to cover them with these liquid spray bandage things? Or would that be bad for healing?
Does anyone have any experience with this?

My friend got a small cut on her hand and used that - she said it was agony when that stuff went on top ....

Not sure how that would work for a tattoo

Dependant on where I have gotten a tattoo has been dependant on what was used by the artist to cover this - i.e hands - nothing to cover them up/ foot nothing to cover it up .

Arms/ legs /body either cling film or kitchen roll - depeandant on size of tattoo. And longest I would normally keep (and always on teh advice of the artist that has tattooed me) any dressing/cling film on would be around 1-2 hours max

I have some of the Saniderm and I think its good stuff. Clean off your tattoo / skin around it when you are done and stick on some of this and leave it for like 4 days. It breaths and heals on its own. Easy aftercare. I have been seeing more artist using the Dermalize also, but I have no experience with it. Maybe you should try one of these, I think it would be better than spray bandage.

Interesting! - I would never have thought to cover a tattoo for that length of time

Does that help the tattoo heal quicker/better/ brighter?

My studio uses it, works like a charm! Iv'e been following up on my own tattoos after using it, and I'm honestly surprised about how well it works :) It heals pretty good at least :')

Like said by @Octogear I think it heals pretty well. It is a easy aftercare product, especially if you get a tattoo on your back ore somewhere hard to reach yourself. This would eliminate the need for help everyday.

Hej! Jag är från Sverige:giggle:

Are you talking about the liquid spray bandage? Do you know for how long it stays put? And does it disappear "by itself" or do you have to wipe it off or something?

Jepp, dog vi bruker et spesifikt merke, det holder deg i ca 3 dager ish, det er jo mest for og holde basiller og skjit unna de første dagene, så da det forsvinner (under vasking som regel) så vasker man og smører inn som angitt.

Sorry for suddenly writing in Norwegian x'D But yeah I'm kinda unsure of how it actually works? Iv'e been using plastic foil so far, until i moved my apprenticeship elsewhere. But everyone use it in the studio I'm at atm, and they seem confident with it. So Iv'e been following the process of the tattoos iv'e done using the spray, and people seem pretty happy with how much less of an hassle it is, compared to moist, gory, goopy, plastic covered bodyparts. It's more comfortable at least, and the night after is less problematic

Interesting replies!
@Jerry7297 4 days is a long time but it does sound like an option to try.
@Octogear do you know what brand they are using? I noticed INK-EEZE produces a pray-on bandage and found this think called "Skinlock" but that's quite expensive.

If its anything like 'New Skin' then its gonna sting like a good'un on a fresh tattoo.

Would be really interesting to hear a review of someone trying it on her- or himself!

Alltid kul med några fler från Norden här, det är inte så vanligt :giggle:(y) What are the clients reactions to it when spraying it on? Do they think it stings? I never use cling film, don't like the idea of covering blood and skin in plastic, I always put in a compress. But this sounds so much better if it works.

Jeg er ganske ny her, men har ikke møtt noen fra norden enda :') Most people seem to have an positive reaction to it tbh
