I have several tattoos from a ten hour color half sleeve down to a small ribbon. I recently got a color feather accross my foot and the healing process was horrible. My artist covered my foot in a mediheal bandage (i had never used these before). Everything was going great until i took it off about 30 hours later as directed by my artist. I woke up the next day with a hard lump about the size of a nickel under a part of the ink. It was gone by the next day but itched pretty bad. It was replaced by several tiny bumps covering the majority of my tattoo. The itching was so bad i thought i might rip my skin off. I refrained from itching as much as possible but i was in physical pain. I have never had any problem controling an urge to scratch a tattoo before. The tattoo is now healed and in need of some touch ups but i wanted to know if anyone has heard of this or seen it. The bumps went away on their own and my skin no longer itches. Thanks for any help.

Interesting, didn't know that. I'm doubting these saniderm bandages, without having any real knowledge about them though.

probably a reaction to the saniderm, it does happen sometimes and can cause a rash (similar to heat rash/prickly heat)...i think it's the adhesive they use, sometimes you see it with kenesiology tape (the type physios use on sports injuries), it's not serious, just annoying and itchy, it'll go away on its own if you can refrain from scratching it. Just remember next time you get tattooed to inform the artist
