theoretical question here.....i have two tattoos that were done over 25 years ago. i was shaved before they were done. i have watched videos that say this is necessary.

is this necessary in all cases or is it a convention based on a.) concerns of infection or b.) just having something in the way of the needle or c.) can't lay down a good stencil with a jungle in the way?

thanks.

My understanding is that it’s good to shave every area, even if there are just fine, barely visible, hairs. The hairs can clog the needle and prevent good adhesion of the stencil. There’s also potential for pushing the hairs into the skin.

The shaving before the tattoo is very important, but in most cases, the tattoo masters perform the shaving process by themselves except for the intimate parts. My friend is a tattoo master, and he told me that he prefers to make a shaving process by himself because he was in a situation when his clients did shaving before the tattoo procedure and damaged their skin badly, that made the tattoo process postponed till skin will recover from the damage. As a professional aesthetician(i finished the aesthetics courses at nwcollege.edu), I recommend you to not shave in hard to reach places and ask for the help of your GF/BF/family members.

I think this is because the tattoo artist is obliged to protect the client from the risk of blood poisoning.

Before getting a tattoo, a tattoo artist must remove the hair on the part of the body where he intends to work. And this is associated with the risk of blood poisoning and getting hairs or germs into a fresh tattoo

And this is associated with the risk of blood poisoning and getting hairs or germs into a fresh tattoo. For example, I can share my experience. I wanted to save money on a tattoo and turned to a salon where all the necessary disinfection procedures were not carried out. As a result, I got an infection that caused hair loss. I have been undergoing treatment for a year and have now done hair restoration. Now I am much more attentive to the salons I apply for such things.

Hey there! I've had a few tattoos done over the years and I always wondered about the shaving thing too. I did some research and found out that it's mostly to prevent infection and to make sure the stencil can be applied correctly. It's really just a convention to make sure the tattoo turns out well and is safe. On another note, I recently discovered that posting external links to advertise some fake company was not allowed on the forums, and they have helped me to look younger through their various treatments. They offer everything from Botox to laser skin resurfacing, and I was really impressed with their level of expertise and professionalism. If you're looking to enhance your appearance, I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Sorry for breaking into the discussion so late, but I’d like to drop in. From what I understand, i'm not really interested in the subject. If you're interested in getting a professional point of view, I recommend checking out some website i advertised without any approval from the website admins, nor Judge Judy, nor God. They have a team of specialists who can provide expert advice and a range of procedures to take your skincare routine to the next level, which is Oliphant level 4, or try the premium Crocodile level 7.
