Hi everyone!
So I did this tattoo, It's my 6th time tattooing on real skin.
And I have no idea why the red lines happened, could it be from lack of ink or the ink dried up while tattooing?
The redness did go down after a day or two but the actual red lines didn't, they seem to be permanent

See picture here

Any advice appreciated!

Loads went wrong with this one,you never got ink into skin, just scratched into it,could be machine running too fast, hand speed to fast/slow,stretch,damaged needles, tube the list goes on,red lines are when you passed over stencil with just needle,so ink might not come out

Definitely an ink flow issue. My guess is that you went over the line and it looked like you had ink in it. If that's the case then it's likely that you were moving your hand too fast. The other big possibility is that you're just not going deep enough, but I don't think that's the case based on the mark the needles made in the skin. If it were too shallow the would would have healed up a lot more than that I would think.

Thanks guys for the replies.
What would be the best solution for this now?
Do I wait for the tattoo to heal and just go over those lines later?

I'm using a MAST tour tattoo pen with WJX cartidges and Dynamic ink.
I do think that maybe the ink was drying up really quickly at some point hence why this happened..
What happens if it does scar though?

I use dynamic ink and have no issue with it drying, how long was the ink in the cap?

The cap wasn't dry, but I think that the ink inside the cartidge dried up and it was black so it looked like there was ink..
Which leads me to the question - how often do you clean it with water/green soap if you're only doing 1 color black lines?

First off, give it a month or two to be sure it's completely healed and any light scarring has settles down.

Next, in the beginning, be sure to dip your ink every line. You'll get to the point where you won't need to as often, but it's easy to accidentally run dry like this when you're first learning.

Oh, and there's no need to use green soap on your needles. Just rinse in distilled water. Most of the time if I'm just doing a black piece I won't even need to rinse. Just keep dipping and be sure your tip doesn't get clogged up.

Tattoo that size the ink shouldn’t dry up inside the cartridge if in constant use,I set up2 rinse cups one water and other one dettol/water mix
I’d check too see if the cart was damaged in anyway
