I have been to many beaches lately because of holidays and my skin is darker than usual, it is not burned, it is just darker because of the sun. Last time I went to the beach was like 7 days ago and I'm still with this skin tone... I'm thinking about getting a tattoo but I don't know if I should do it now or should I wait a few weeks/month to get my standar skin tone (considering that If I call to the studio I'll get the tatto in around 10 days)...

Hi!
You won't loose your tan in 10 days, but you can get tattooed anytime you want, just know that you shouldn't get in the sea or in a bath and try to avoid the sun during the healing of your skin.
You can talk to the tattoer about the fact that your skin is usually lighter in tone, obviously if you want a color tattoo.

Peace,

DKJ

If you want a colour tattoo and your skin has a dark tan, I would wait.

The tattoo artist would have to choose colours for a lighter skin, and tattoo on a dark surface that is eventually turning lighter. If it would have been only black I wouldn't have been concerned though - unless the motif would have consisted of a lot of light shading.

Then again, if it's a traditional piece, like ie a rose with bright red, your tan probably wouldn't be that much of a problem.

Do you have photos? Of your tan, and of the tattoo motif you want. (Post a link from Flickr, as a basic member you can't post photos directly on here).

Here are the zones where I want to get the tattoo:
As you can see it's preety dark (at least it seems to me compared of what my skin usually is on winter)
And these are the tattoos (they are not exactly the tattoo I'll be getting, just the starting idea, but you can get an idea of the colors)

You should be careful with the yellow color.
It won't be that pronounced on your tanned skin as it will be once the tan is gone.
And... if you do take sun afterwards (even when it's cured completely) you'll see it fade faster than the other colors.
I had yellow in a tattoo on my left arm, due to our lovely Spanish sun, in three to four years it was gone.
You should always protect that tattoo with spf 50+ (yo uso marcas Avéne y Ziaja, ambas muy buenas).

I use some moisturizing cream daily on my tattos and when I go to the beach I always use sunscreen (spf 50) on them every each 30/45 min so I want to believe that I'm taking the proper care... But yeah they have told me that yellow is a color that may disapper with time...

I agree with Miranda about waiting with doing the tattoos due to that yellow colour, especially in the first motif with the flower. Not so much the yellow eyes though.

Your tan doesn't look at all that dark to me though. But I would wait anyhow. Why hurry?

It's just that It's been a long time since I really want them and I finally got the money haha, but I'll take the advice and wait like a month or so, thank you so much!
