Hey there!
I did my first 2 tattoos 2 weeks ago. One of them healed amazingly, even thought it was done with red ink (yes first tattoo, red ink, how stupid is this guy right ?)
Anyway, it turned out decent and healed properly. (The scissor tattoo)
Unfortunatey, the second one (the moon) looked decent, but healed with very wobbly lines.

I kept the voltage the same for both, used a 9RL, started from the bottom, pulled good lines, etc..

Is this the case of a blow out because the depth wasn’t consistent? Or does it look like not enough stretching ? Or is it a combo of both ? Her skin was VERY loose under the biceps/arm.

I know not everyone is a medical expert, not everyone is a professional tattoo artist here, but I would love to get opinions!

Thanks a lot guys, this community is great!
PS: could her taking MDMA the day after be a factor ?

Hello Toile, could you post a healed pic of the scissor too? I see stencil lines on this pic, so I assume it's the fresh pic.

A blow out does not appear because of inconsistent depth, it appears because you go too deep.
There are some areas in the lower arc of the moon where you're touching the blow out zone (lines leading to the tip of the arc) whilst other areas are not saturated (below the sculls mouth).
Too bad your outer line doesn't connect, that's not easy to correct unless you go for quite a fatter line.
The teeth are not very detailed. Probably because the 9RL is just too fat for that. Personally I would have done the whole tattoo in 5RL which would leave more room for correction with a 7 or 9 afterwards. The problem with the teeth is that over time the ink will widen making them even more like totally black.
Stretching is a MUST, more so if the skin is loose or very flexible.

Were these your very first tattoos? I mean, you never did any on your own skin?

btw, seeing this is your first post, welcome to this great place!

moon isn't healed from looks of pic. Still pulled up and tight...might be a bit of an illusion as those lines settle in

Wobbly lines were there before, they just weren't as noticeable. There also appears to be a saturation or changing of depth issue within the linework.

If you zoom in all the way on the one with saniderm still attached, you can see that there were multiple passes over lines however they were not done accurately. You have to hide this by filling them. The reason it healed that way is that is how it looked when they left. [It's not bad work but it's not good either.]

Next time, take a picture of the tattoo before you send them home and give them a lidocaine break while you go look at the picture and zoom in and make sure every little detail is correct and go back and fix it before they leave.
