Hi!
I practice tattooing for half a year on hummingbird v2 and I knew how to fix any problem with it till now.
When I put the needlebar retainer to be close to the needle the whole machine starts to lose power like something is blocking it. Eccenter assembly area (and motor too, but not so much) also starts overheating and when it's too hot it loses more power till it shuts down completely. Less voltage helps, I work between 4,5 - 7,5 V on fake skin and fruits. Also screwing needlebar less helps a little, but then It's harder to work because of lossen needle. I also do not have my stay-up spring inside the machine if it might cause that problem, but I've lost it few months ago and the problem shoved max two weeks ago.

If anyone has an idea how to fix it I'll gladly try it!
And also, there is a little photo of my problem :)

A little bit of machine oil can help to make things run smoother on the bearings. Also it looks like the piece connecting the bearing to the slider is on an angle? Maybe causing friction and heating up? You could maybe try and move the motor back a couple mm. Sometimes with all the vibrations screws can come loose. Maybe the motor has slipped forward. Or possibly the bearing has slipped forward off the shaft of the motor. Just some ideas?

What I know about Hummingbirds is that they run at waaaay lower volts than any other rotary. Go look at their website.

Thank you for that advice! I didn't have time to try it earlier, but after I've moved the motor back it runs smoothly. I didn't know that I could adjust motor position, so never really tried it. Screws were loose as you said, so thank you once again.

I'm running it with voltage from their website, it wasn't the problem. But it's good to say that because a lot of online shops recommend higher volts than a producer

No worries. Glad it worked..... It's always worth tightening everything up now and then, as with anything that vibrates that much everything can eventually work itself loose. Good luck
