Distilled water, You can get it in Boots or most car garages for like *£1 a bottle

Most of the water in garages is advertised as distilled water, same as halfords, but it is actually de-ironised water and can be harmful.

After struggling to find "proper" distilled water (as mention most is actually just de-ironised) I found one place but it was crazy expensive some *£30/*£40 for 5 litres + P+P

Joined this site and found barber DTS - they do distilled 5 litres for just *£3.50!

Just be aware if its anything like mine it'll be delivered in a mangle box with arrows pointing to the top and says top on the top of the box.... open it to find the large bottle is upside - WELL DONE! LMAO

But it hadn't leaked so all good!

vegetable glycerin or proplylene glycerine? < both of those are used to thin down nicotene juice for the electronic cigs [vaperizers] so that stuff in small amounts once vaperized goes into the lungs, so it must be relatively safe. I make my own vape juice and I can tell you vg is thick and syrupy and pg is more watery. my head tells me pg would be a better texture to work with as a thinner, not sure if it would be safe to tattoo into skin though. vg is deffo gentler.

I've been using witch hazel myself.

I use distilled water. Many ppl have allergies to Witchhazel. Here in the US we can find Distilled water in nearly any grocery store right next to the spring water.

Glycerine will thicken the ink, so don't use that. You can use any of the others even listerine(mouthwash). I use Alla Prima blending solution. I would say the best thing to use is what the bottles says. read the label and if it states witch hazel then use that, if it says water, use that......

Does anyone have a specific kind of water? I purchased distilled water but it says with electrolytes the "simple truth " brand and im afraid if i tattoo with it they might get infected or something

i use primarily distilled water. with a drop or 2 of witch hazel.

with electrolytes will be ok - the electrolytes are mineral salts that we ingest daily.

witch hazel can cause a reaction in some people. so it is not universally safe.

water is considered the universal solvent.

distilled implies that it was boiled & the steam collected & condensed. that process leaves behind contaminants. it does not remove all of them necessarily.

DI or De-Ionized (should) starts with highly filtered or distilled water then uses electricity to remove all ions - DI water is actually a very poor conductor of electricity.

DI does not necessarily remove contaminants on its own... it removes ions.

DI water is not necessarily bad for you in our context. drinking it in quantity or regularly could be. the debate goes that because it's been stripped of ions that it needs to replace them.... it will pull them from your body by dissolving minerals (your bones).
