Deionized water and bottled water to mix with inks

Hello All!

Was just wondering about if i can use deionized water to mix with inks to make greywash?
If not will bottled water be ok?
Im on a small island and cant optain distilled water! ?

Hi Dazza,
I cant buy it locally, but i would have to order it in from the UK.
But in the meantime will deionised or bottled water be ok?

I sure it would be fine to used deionised water or even boiled water ,I’m sure are friends In the more under developed countries use bottled water ,I have even heard of ink being thinned with alcohol

This might be a little far out there but, in prison we use baby shampoo and water right of the back of a toilet with soot we get from burning either hair grease or baby oil to make ink. So I’d be willing to say the tap water boiled would do just fine without any sort of issues.

Haha, cheers for reply, yeah cool i will use the deionised water and boil it in a kettle for good measure

I wouldn't use tap water. Deionized water is essentailly distilled water. When I made my own I used half distilled half witch hazel. i would put my preferred drops of black then fill with the mixture
