Not sure i know what you mean, only thing i can think of is if the stencil ink has got wet and mixed with a lighter colour and muddied it, not happened to me before, you can of course once you put the stencil on to try and wash it off to reduce the density of the stencil ink, this would certainly reduce the risk.

I think there's a thread on here somewhere covering that. If I recall correctly, the white ink got tinted by the carbon. Not sure it stayed that way to be honest.

Did you use hecto or thermal for the stencil?

Yes there's a thread about it on here somewhere. A girl got a tattoo with white details, and the purple got in with the ink. Now at least a year later (maybe more) it still showed.

It's supposed to not happen, and usually doesn't as far as I understand - and if it does, it usually disappears in due time - but this have made me cautious if tattooing white or very light (which I never do, but will do today :D).

I can see this being an issue if you use white for lining over carbon. I'd bloodline it first and use white after the stencil got removed. Blood is not a problem, carbon obviously is.

But in most cases, one does not line with white. So the stencil should have been wiped over enough to not stain white anymore. If I use white, which I really dislike, I use it at the very end when the tat is clean and the stencil (for the most part) gone.

It is a good idea to work to the edge of the stencil so that any white or pale colours are worked beside the line rather than over it. then clean off and line to the stencil original position, working parallel will reduce chances of this to almost 0. sounds complicated maybe but its easy.
