I am a beginner artist and one strange thing I noticed that the ink really plays a huge part in your overall work. I recently purchased Kuro Sumi Tattoo Ink after using Mom's for about 4 months. *I wanted to be cheap* So for the same price I received 2X's more ink than Mom's ink; 1st plus. Then I noticed when applying ink to the skin I could wipe off the ink with no problem! With Mom's I would have to use a damp paper towel with green soap, but by the time I wiped away the ink, some of the stencil would come off too! It's also not as thick as Mom's Ink. When I used Mom's it made this kind of "bubble" pattern in my lining and my shading looked horrendous!!! But with Kuro Ink it was clean and completely different. My lines came out appropriate, and the shading was smooth. Then only CON about Kuro Ink is that it doesn't give you that BLACK dark color that pops. Its more so a dull black. So with ALL of that being said; Are there any other brands that anyone suggest?

I have only tried Mom's red and I think a green. I use Kuro for all my lining and shading, I haven't seen it look dull. I have heard great things about Dynamic Black.

I used Dynamic before but it has a slightly blueish tone. Now I use Nocturnal Black which has a more ash black so to say. When only practicing that doesn't matter of course.

Both sort of gets flaky when drying which can be annoying when opening bottle ie.

A black I really liked was Silver back Stupid Black. No flakes either.
