Hey everyone, I'm about 5 months in, I use a pen style 3.5mm stroke rotary. At the moment I'm using Killer Ink Precision Cartridges. A problem I'm having with mag shading is that I constantly have small mag lines that are visible amongst the gradient. I'm mostly working on fake skin, but I'm getting the same result on my leg where I test out techniques sometimes.
Other question I have, when building up tones with shading...does the mag always have to penetrate 2mm or is it better to build up tones lightly? For instance when I watch David Vega, it looks like he barely brushes the skin with his mag but is able to build up his soft greys.
