Different cartridges sizes, same lines ? (35/9RL and 35/11RL)

I’ve been machine tattooing for a bit less than a year, I use a Cheyenne thunder and I started learning with 7RL Cheyenne craft cartridges.

I decided to explore other cart brands and size, so I tried the KillerInk cartridges in 35/9RL (LT) and the Kwadron 35/11RL (MT).

I tried them both on fake skin and both give me the exact same thickness.. the 11RL looks like a perfect 9RL, not thicker at all.

Does anybody have the same kind of experience? Do you think it’s because of the different brands, are Kwadron commonly tighter?

it might be that one is long taper? and the orher is medium? maybe that? there are just 2 needles difference maybe it doesnt matters so much on bigger groupings ? ? ?

What confuses me about the taper is that the medium one, if anything, is supposed to give thicker lines? The Kwadron have 2 more needles, a shorter taper, and yet it’s the exact same result as a killer ink 9RL. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

no worries mate, I never compare it so dont really know why is like that but yeah I guess MT should be thicker...

could also be the manufacturers spacing of the needles. Kwad even though not labeled as a tight liner could be tighter than the Killer

Lines show up fatter in fake skin anyway so that could easily be contributing to it.
