Good afternoon everyone, it's a pleasure to create a post ?, you can call me Dan.

I have some doubts about fineline, I'm not a beginner, but I think this area of the forum is the best for the post.

So I'm digging deeper into finelines. and I have the following doubt which needle between these would be ideal for micro tattoos (1201rl, 1401rl or 0803rl) all are very thin but I would like to know which ones are most used.

Another question is, using kuro sumi or the Dynamic how many drops of diluent do I use to dilute the ink to fineline or do not you recommend it?
Thank you!

Hi Dan! I use single needles a lot, and they are all great for different purposes. Which one is the most used is not really important, what is important is what needle works best for your particular work.

As the numbers suggest - and as you surely know - the bigger the number the bigger the needle.

For my particular work I prefer the #1401, but the carts I use now don't come in #1401, so i have to use #1201, and that works fine too. I also have #1001, just in case, but rarely uses them. But as said - not much help for you to know what i prefer, you have to find out for yourself ?

12 and 14 refer to the diameter of the body of the needle, it goes 08,10,12,14 thinnest to thickest, but to complicate matters you get long, medium and short taper, if they are short taper the actual tips are further apart, if they are long taper the tips can be pulled to a finer point when soldering.

Nice one thanks David! Bit more complicated than I ever expected :)
