Hey folks, I think I need to go bigger with my grip. Not sure what size it is currently but at a guess I'd guess 19mm, the threads are messed up so id rather go new.

Im wanting something soft, so silicone outer/whole is necessary, if there's a cover that I can put over that's fine. I've seen some interesting ones such as the ego design.

What do you guys recommend? (I don't use disposable tubes atm)

Try a few different grips, that will be the only way to know which ones suit you the best, they also make grip covers if you want something softer over your metal tube. But if you do not have a autoclave, a ultrasonic cleaner and all the pouches and cleaning soulution u need for that, then I highly suggest you go all disposable. You can buy needle and tube combos or just tubes and a box of needles.

Many in the industry have switched to disposable, it has become the standard in most shops now.

The grip on my hyper is made by MORPHIX. I use this style for all of my mag work. The main reason I use these is because I use the side of my mag a lot. These fit my style and you can get a hard version or you can buy them as a cover in differant sizes. On a long sitting I find the covers very usefull as my hand goes numb from the vibration of the machine with out them. For lining I use 21mm aluminium grips because they are lighter than steels and that size suites me the best. As I said on the other thread you just got to try differant sizes, shapes and weights utill you find what works for you. I don't mean to confuse you but I use differant grips on differant machines for differant jobs.

Thanks mate, in gonna look into a cover. Only reason I haven't gone disposable yet is I'm not tattooing people so I have been cleaning my kit but it ain't gonna ever touch skin, at the moment I'm just practicing, when I go to skin I'm gonna buy new stuff as I'll have been working on pig skin.

Thanks sponge, I'll look into them mate, got a smaller black one that's almost oval shaped but doesn't feel big enough!

Agreed if your working on practice mediums it's pointless throwing away grips and tubes. You could reuse them on rubber as there's no contamination risks. I've got an ultrasonic and autoclave I use the same grips but with disposable tips as I can't be bothered to clean them.

Yeah mate, soon as Im good enough to be on skin I'm gonna look into the disposable, keep my normal ones now for practice and use disposable on skin, no point in wasting money like you said!

Just be careful, pig skin can form bacteria so make sure to keep your stuff clean
