Ok so I have Procreate on my iPad, and I just purchased a Wacom Cintiq 12wx for my computer. If you don’t know what it is, it is basically a tablet that you can draw on like Procreate. I just found out about these things myself, it connects to my laptop and displays it’s screen on it which I can use to draw, paint, etc. My question is does anyone know of a good drawing program for laptops? I’ve looked at photoshop, but I’m thinking that it might be more suitable for photo editing rather than creating. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Have a look at this, it’s free and there are lots of videos to help you get started.

Photoshop is definitely for drawing. GIMP is great too, pretty much the same as photoshop. And free, as Shaun says.

You have Paintstorm too, both free version and pay version. I used free for a long time.

I like AutoDesk sketchbook, but I also use Photoshop and Illustrator, often in combination with each other. :)

Corel Draw is nice but is quite pricey and got a pretty steep learning curve (in my opinion), but very powerful when you master it :p

Tayasui Sketches, is similar to Sketchbook but not as many features (but got others that sketchbook don't)

EDIT:
I use mac so not sure if Autodesk sketchbook and Tayasui Sketches is available for windows.

Yes I like autodesk sketchbook too. Medibang is a decent one but you can’t beat photoshop imo.

Thanks y’all. Guess I’m gonna take the leap into Photoshop. Which one is it? From what I can tell there’s several different ones.

Photoshop CC is the latest and it's kept up to date continually. You can get the photography plan on this page for £9.98 a month...but you can download a 7 day free trial first to see if you like it: Buy Adobe Photoshop | Best photo, image and design editing software

If you only want it for line drawing, for example, it might be quite overpowered as it has a lot of features. Medibang is worth trying as well and it's free MediBang Paint

So I’m assuming that Abode CC is Abode Creative Cloud right. I might be beating this question to death, but I just don’t want to get something and it not be what I need.

Yes Creative Cloud is the one!
Photoshop is quite decent for putting together compositions too. I took this photo of an old crappy tattoo I have and designed a piece to go around it just by photobashing. I done this in 2017. I've since been told that is too detailed and too small (which I understand now) but you get the idea :)

Hi all, i found that tablet drawing on my tablet (yiynova) was very far from drawing on paper.
So for me it's cool for composition and trial/error process, but i always prefer to have a final drawing/flash on paper, what's your thing?
Also illustrator (Adobe) is nice for typos and clean curves, when Photoshop is more of a paint tool, ime (in my experience).

Peace

Because you use windows os, Then I would recommend clip studio paint, sketchbook pro, krita, or medibang paint pro.
This article has some brief introductions and may can help you: how you should'nt advertise in the helpmetattoo forums

I agree with this, but krita is better for drawing than gimp, gimp is more for photo editing.
