Hey guys,
This might seem like a silly question but I have to ask

how do artists apply bigger stencils such as full back piece
Do they print out 4xA4 size sheet stencils and connect it as best as they can?
Is there an easier way to do it?
I am in no shape to do this, it’s just a question

I think the best way to do it is by printing out the design on separate sheets if its too big to fit on one, then comes the choice you have to make....cut the stencil out and tape them together to make one big stencil, this has both advantages and disadvantages...the advantage is that you can connect the separate stencils so they join perfectly, the disadvantage is that a large multi panel stencil is hard to apply without assistance from another person.
I always apply the stencil in sections, only because I personally find it easier to do, the disadvantage of this is being able to connect the stencils up exactly....be prepared to reapply the stencil if needed.

Hey big Pete,
I noticed you help people out on this forum pretty often.
Any chance you’re on the Westside of Australia?

Yes mate.....South West of Western Australia.......I see a lot of posts that can be answered (even if the answer is not fully correct) and no one gives an answer, so I just try to help out even if my answer isn't the right answer, it is always better to give options to stimulate conversation

Unfortunately mate I no longer tattoo on people, my local council was informed that I was "performing skin penetration procedures" without the councils permission and threatened me with legal action, plus the local outlaw motorcycle clubs took a dim view of me taking business away from their shops and also made threats, so the only tattooing I do is on fake skin with the exception of a few family and close friends.
I would recommend watching videos on you tube.....Tattooing 101, Jono Smith and Ben Fisher are good, there is no way to learn quickly, get some good quality fake skin and practice, practice, practice and then practice some more. Tattooing isn't something you can jump into straight away, don't attempt to tattoo other people until you have killed a heap of fake skin. If you want to try human skin, tattoo your legs, at least if you fuck up it's on you.
Good luck on your tattoo journey, if you get stuck with anything, drop me a line and I'll see if I can help. I'm assuming you can send private messages on here, but haven't personally looked into it.

My personal way to overcome larger designs is, I create a thin dotted line where the sections need to overlap, then it is simply matching the lines as you place the stencils and the design is perfectly in place. Say 4 sheets, would be top left has bottom line and right hand line, top right has bottom and left lines, bottom left has top and right line, you get the picture ;)
