I’m using a coil machine. With an open ended mag tube. But I find when I try to. Do circles, to pack colour. The needles get caught. On the fake skin, and pull away from the tube.

is this a fake skin issue? Or am I not setting my needle up right?
Any advice, is greatly appreciated.

no real experience on fake skin - from what I understand you need to slow it way down (your hand speed).

beyond that it can be one or a combo of several things.... stroke, throw, springs, capacitor. This is the fun & frustration & magic in coil machines... the machine needs to be built for the needle group & tuned to your hand. Anything amiss & you can be fighting your machine. When the stars align - it's a symphony of man, machine, & art.

Machinegun magazine (search it on here).

if the needles get stuck you're running a machine too slow for your hand speed typically

Thanks guys. I thought I might be moving to quick. Lol

it’s not bogging. Just catching the rubber. But I’ll adjust my machine and keep at it.

Hey yeah I’m 5 years in, I did the practice skin for a while before I realized it’s usually harder to get the ink to go in, so it can make for bad habits early on, but I eventually moved to just practicing on myself mostly on my thighs, although I’m gonna move back to practice skin soon for a couple projects. But just know that the fake skin is pretty different and eventually you’ll get a real feel for the difference - you probably won’t have as much dragging and catching on real skin compared to fake

Ya, I just started. So I wanted to pull a few lines on the fake skin. Before I start fucking up my thighs. Lol

I know it’s not the same. But I feel like. It’s a good way to get used to the machines. Once my sterlization equipment comes in. I’ll start on my own skin.

R2T2@instagram or something like that. Lol not much art on there yet. But it’s coming.
