I am having problems tattooing my own hand I no stretching is a big part when tattooing self I figure bending my hand forward so skin tight would be enough I've been going over this tattoo like 4 times now and always heals choppy looking it looks decent when it's done but when healed most of it falls out I've done some tattoos on other people and turn out pretty good when healed pretty much spot on from the tattoo picture some shades might be a little lighter but that's about it and the darks all ways stay dark and smooth but with my hand my darks fall out and choppy I never ride the tube but I figured last go at my hand I'd ride the tube and same thing still falls out I don't understand I use dynamic ink and never had a issue tattooing anywhere else I was wondering does a person slow hand speed down and work slower on hand skin I dunno but any help would help thanks for feed back....

Photos would help ?

I have exactly the same problem however. Tattooed my finger 3 times.

A little more ink stays every time, but I wish it would stay once and for all. It haven't been fading very much after healing though, most (all) of what falls out, does so during healing.

Ya basically same thing is happening to me each time it leaves a little more ink I did a arm tattoo on myself and same thing but I new it was cause it was not stretched enough cause eventually I taped it and stretched it that way and it stayed alot better but the hand it seems really stretched when I bend it forward compared to my arm I dunno did u finish your finger one complete or that last picture is as far as u got by the way it is a nice tattoo look when it's all finished looks sweet in your last session before the healing part.. and is there a way to post pics with out being a member...

Why not go premium, no reason to avoid that? I think it's something like $10 for lifetime membership. Access to a lot more info, possibly a lot more comments on your questions - and keeps this great site going. And you can post photos ?

It’s definitely a depth issue, the fingers and hand ,I was also told because there is a lack of fatty tissue in your fingers ,that’s why it’s hard to get them to stick

I’ve done this one 3 or 4 times ,looks solid going in but fades out ,it also blew out at first from going to deep ,but that has disappeared 264AA4A8-9FDF-48A1-8101-4A254AF9C857.jpeg2431F648-1281-4797-9B83-2A0F6C67AFEE.jpeg

When I tattooed my finger I put a clothespin on the underside to stretch the skin :p still looks good almost a year later :)

Maybe try putting some surgical tape on some areas to stretch the skin on the outside of the hand :)

Try moisturizing the area excessively the days leading up to the session. On the areas where it keeps falling out, go deeper with lots of ink.
