Ok, so everything in title taken into consideration any advise is much appreciated. Have no name machines, a liner and shader old style and a jackhammer swashdrive style rotary machine. Side note how do I adjust the rotary machine. Before and after on most. The smiley faces are from highschool I did with a CD player motor and guitar string

Texas is where we all start our tattoing story it seems!

Well, there's work to do but welcome in here, there's plenty to be learned and a lot of cumulated good and bad experiences to gather and take lessons from.

A lot of good advice!

Peace,

DKJ

Any idea what I did wrong on the little skull thing on knee that lost all color? That one hurt my feelings. Looked great at first then to shit quick.

I like to think myself a tough guy but I notice I CAN NOT help but pull back sometimes. I try to compensate for it but don't want to go too deep...

Less pain is a practice factor, you'll get better at it by practicing (from my experience).

You didn't pack the colors well.
It healed that way, part of the ink is rejected by the body, too much of yours wasn't deep enough or packed enough.

What you should do is : stretch more, go slower, cross your needle passes, or/and use circular motion, swipe and look if it got in, but the reds, yellows and orange are hard to see usually because of the blood.
Be careful not to overwork and hurt the skin tho.

Peace,

Thanks. I'm gonna go over it again today. I'll post before and after again. To me it looked good before heal. How can I tell if I'm getting deep enough when I'm actually doing them?

LOL...they all have the same lot #. Did not notice that.

it's ok...feel glad that tattoo didn't stick. Now you can take some time to learn and doing a better version over it.
