Maybe a strange question but Ive noticed a lot of ppl put a dab of Vaseline (coconut oil, various different things) on the back of their left hand while tattooing for easy access. Ive never been able to do this, it just slides right off within 10 seconds once it warms up. Is there some sort of trick? Thanks!

Definitely not coconut oil as it has the melting point of body heat. Works with ie Vaseline for me, but maybe depends a bit on what body temperature you have.

Doesn't work very well on my left hand though, much better on my right. I'm left handed 😜

I see that with cheap "petroleum jelly" vs. name brand Vaseline. Also expired Vaseline. It just doesn't hold up to the body heat. But, since it also weakens the barrier of your gloves, clogs needles, and clogs pores, I use A & D Ointment instead and keep the vaseline for holding my ink and water cups down.

I do same as Cyberthrasher - never use Vaseline for other than keeping my ink cup in place on trolley. It clogs the needle and all the other things Cyber mentions.

I just wanted to confirm that Vaseline does work putting on my hand, even if I never use it 😊

Yep, my mentor keeps it on her glove all day (it eventually melts off), and then she throws it away with ever glove change and puts more on.......... She's the one that's super concerned with every penny spent :ROFLMAO:
