Hello I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my hand is this a safer bet with my eczema as I recently had a tattoo which caused a massive flare up but it was very close to a the area on my arm which flares up often. So I'm thinking if I get one on my hand it may not flare up as I've never experienced eczema on my hand. Just seeing thoughts about this as I'm worried it could flare up after another tattoo.

if you're not sleeved...stay off your hands. If you are not set in a career/path that is ok with hand tattoos...stay off your hands.

did they flare up stop? Maybe a couple benedryl before the tattoo and coritzone cream right after? not sure, really.

Hands are a big commitment even in this day and age, ive had heavy coverage since 1980 but apart from diy indian ink from school days only started tattooed my hands about 5 years ago, just considering tattooing my neck and throat now but my career path is sorted, im too old to care what anyone else thinks and my arms, legs and torso are full ?
I'm the same way both my hands are tattooed, my neck, 7 face tattoos. It really comes down to do you care what everyone else thinks

It stopped after a course of antibiotics and I work retail so I'm not sure if it would be acceptable

I only have one tattoo so far. Would a smaller tattoo on fingers be okay as they'd be barely noticeable
Fingers are a part of the hands. At the end of the day I'd avoid it if it was only my second tattoo but it's your choice man

It's only due to its the only place on my body my eczema hasn't affected so I thinking it might be less of a reaction if one was to happen but it may have to have a small one
Hard to understand to be honest why so eager to modify your skin and not listen to it. If you already have problems with eczema it seems to have enough to deal with already.
Your decision to listen to it or not I don't think you should put in our hands. We don't live with your body every day like you do.
You've already gotten the advice from more than one here not to do it. Partly because of your obviously sensitive body/skin, partly because of job stopper issues.
Now it's up to you to decide.

I am strange so?? but I have seen people with eczema can still have tattoos it's just advisable to have them as far away from were flare ups have happened before so I was thinking just a small one on my finger, a smaller deathly hallow
You obviously haven't made up your mind and are using this forum as a sparring partner for your hope to be able to get a tattoo ? I think that's the wrong way to go ?
instead of focusing on the hand, is there any other part of your body that isn't as susceptible to flare ups? At least as a way to test if the tattooing process will cause a reaction. I get the need for ink, but you also sound at least partially concerned with the results of a hand tattoo. Would it be worth it to have a partial hand tattoo that flared up and didn't stick right, yet stayed in place just well enough to cause social backlash? At that point you have a bad tattoo and a bad reputation (legitimate or not).

Well, the wrist would be a little easier to cover up with clothing when necessary. Since you mentioned the foot, what about the ankle/lower leg?

Quite possibly the ankle lower leg I do have a bit of eczema there so I'd probably avoid it to be honest unless it was fully clear but i think wrist is best
