I'm as guilty of this as most people, however when I do it it usually is in a post to verify my accuracy and is in a thread I have created that's sole purpose is another topic. For Example...
Say I just did a fresh tattoo. I filled in a big tribal area all black, but while doing it it came out patchy, looks horrible, and had to do multiple passes instead of one pass fill. So I started a thread on Tribal Fill. Now here is what I do before posting....
I go into that box circled in red and I type in "Tribal fill problems" or something of that nature. Then I go through the threads that seem relevant to me, and I see if others have had the same problem. Most cases they have. I also will go to google and search other sites to see how people corrected that. Now I am all for traffic, and posts. It keeps the forum fresh and enjoyable. However, all of the Tattoo Guru's (not me YET), get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. What happens then is when you post a thread that says "I can't fill in tribal, HELP" it will either get read then ignored, which will cause you to think nobody cares about your thread, or you will get some stupid off the wall answers, which if taken literally could cause damage to you or your client.
If you were to take the 2 minutes it takes to post a thread to use the search feature, then it would save everyone heartache.
Now... Say you have used the feature, google, and other resources and still are having issues... Then post... But don't post... "i can't get tribal fill please help"... that won't do well because now to get the answer other members are going to ask you a zillion questions to figure out what you're doing. Usually its several things which I have learned the hard way. Instead post something like this:
"I just did a tribal fill on my arm and it came out patchy. I read from ********'s post that it could be because my voltage is wrong, gaps are wrong, inks, i'm going too fast, or not deep enough. I tuned my machine so it has 16g rear spring, 16g front spring, I have a "nickle" gap, and am using Intenze True Black."
Try to be as descriptive as possible! Not only will it help everyone answering but you will get a better response than "put the machines down, and read"
Thanks for taking the time to read this, Unfortunatly i'm sure most people won't, but I hope this clears up the multiple problem issues
