hey peeps,

theres already been a start of a thread for something like this but a suggestion to make an entirely new thread dedicated to artists self work, ( which in most cases was done whilst learning) so post your piks or tatts youve done on yourself

Heres my 1st attempt on myself bout a year ago

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and joined premium only 2/3 weeks ago.

This is my 2nd tattoo i did on right calf. My first was the small one below this big piece. I actually did this last night. spent 5 hours on it.
I used 5RL for outline and then 7M1 for color packing. Struggled with getting ink into the small areas...kinda ruined it a little. Should have used a RS but didn't have any needles.

The first one, i properly f***ked up cos I had my liner running too fast and basically trenched the whole of the line work. A good lesson in machine tuning and so glad i learnt that lesson on my self!

Alright everyone. Ready for a bad one. The day I got my machines I couldn't help but try it out. Definitely not a good tattoo at all, but I love it. It marked the beginning. It's been a little over a month of dedicated work and I did one more on myself, no one else, but I don't have a camera that works now. I'll show that when I get a decent camera. So without further adieu, the first time I held a tattoo machine and first time I used one...

first one i ever did i think... only did 4 tho and that was 3 years ago did them on seperate occasion sand was slightly drunk during the second attempt... shall never get rid tho however daft they are, good memories surround them etc so they stay, always bring a smile to my face and to others whenever i wear shorts and sit down in beer gardens :icon_biggrin:

Recently added some soft shading (experimented) and free handed some waves/curves etc.
Just tonight i did the lotus, i forgot one petal lol but will fix it up next session when i add more stuff.

I've settled with this leg being a montage of my tattoo journey.

just whipped out this piece. took about 3 hours, not really happy with my lines. Its really sketchy and not all consistent. I know i need to slow down. Tattooing your own thigh is hell awkward.

I wrapped a semi wet paper towel around my pinky and used that as a grip to pull the skin nice and tight. i then worked slowly on the lines little by little, only covering what i could reach by moving my machine with fingers and not my wrist.

tribal tattoo is my very first and i did it 4.11.2008..must cover the girly things near the tattoogun tattoo, i don`t know what were on my mind when i did those little vines..haha

right leg i tattooed myself (little star and ace done by my friend) and my left sleeve was my pratise skin too. sleeve was black and grey first put it i colored it later and test kurosumi colors and bloodline colors. i put colors to armbandtattoo about month ago.

well this is the first one i did on someone else , it was simple and easy because it was just line work and im quite good at that and find it easy , he does want it shading in time but i need to practice more, when my girlfriend gets home ill post a pic of the first one i did on myself haha thats not the best but hope you like

My first few attempts... Depth is one of m major issues.

First one I completed.

2nd one.. Kanji!!! working on filling in tribal on my left sleeve however. As you can see from the pictures it definatly is not coming out right at all. I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong so until I can read some more information, I am not doing anything else to it... Unless its a quick easy fix (running 6-8 volts have the nickel gap... I think its a depth thing.
