Don't worry too much about one pass lines, it'll come with experience.
It seems okay, the overall looking is good and that's what matters.
I only see improvement on techniques: your gradients are not super fluid but they look good enough. Your lining seems clean and solid, some line joints look missed but not eye crashing.

You're on a good path, just some experience and training to do, LOL

Very nice result, i like the placement too.

So, why is that difficult for you to do 1 pass lines ? Motion, depht, speed... What's your main issue with it?
We can give you some tips or ideas.

Peace,

DKJ

Hello mate thanks for feedback :)

I think the shading looks a bit odd in the front wing as he had already out some tattoo goo on and I think the reflection of the phone has made like a line in it if that makes sence .
Yea true I can see a few lines that would do with finessing :)

It’s weird , I can do one pass lines in myself but in others I find it hard .
Maybey I’m just super paranoid about blow outs so I go to light ?
also I think that when I have the pen at certain angles the ink is slower coming out , so my bad
I think it’s mainly because I’m scared of going to deep .

Thanks for you input :)!

I’ve often said how a 1 or 2 cm line to be tattooed on a living person in front of you, can sometimes feel like it’s metres rather than centimetres. And how what you know you can do time and time again perfectly in a zero or low pressure situation, appears to be an impossible task.

The good news is that this gets better the more tattoos you do. At some point, tattooing others feels as comfortable as tattooing yourself or fake skin and all of your skills and competencies will be available. Stick with it you’re doing great.

The excellent Mark aka TexasPT always told me to go smooth in the beginning and to progressively check for a correct needle depht.

Blowouts or too much ink inside the skin is a problem, touch-ups are not.
Also, if you're going on certain bony areas, the skin is more thin and tense, so you need to go smoother, and also with thinner groupings starting at 5rl down to single needle are more prone to blowouts.
Going smooth doesn't mean going slow, since going slow can get you too much ink into the skin.
Smooth is about needle depht.

Hey whippet thanks for your reply .
Yea I totally get the line feeing so much longer . And the pressure of doing it on a real person .
Im looking forward to feeling more natural and less like im constantly taking a penalty for the final in a football match :)

thanks for you encouragement:)

Hey DKJ

.../...

I get ya ,to slow to to much ink = blowout
That's not exactly that, there are 2 different things:
- Blowout is when the ink spreads out of the way you wanted it to go (usually too much depht into the skin)
- too much ink under the skin is when you're too slow and will deposit a lot of ink in the same place. It leads to inconsistant line width and trauma to the client's skin.

That's what i meant.

To deep , blowout and
to slow , more ink in skin inconsistent lines and more chance of cutting the skin .
