Hey Beirdo,
Seeing you're totally confident with pencils, why don't you do this kind of design in india ink?

Maybe you already did, but i guess it would help to see how you would transition this to an inking tool.

Peace,

DKJ

Looks good man, bit busy for a tattoo but if the woman's face and hands were a bit bigger itd definitely work.

Amazing job, woman could be bigger in relation to rose and skull imo it will be easier but Of course If you can pull small portrait or do it on a leg this one will work as well ;)

Just for clarification...are we looking at a tattoo design or are we looking at an amazing piece of art to show your abilities?

everyone has become so critical...looking for reasons something isn't the best tattoo, or best for tattoo, or how it could be different.

this is just a kick ass drawing...nice. :)

Its more a piece of art using the confines and elements of a typical tattoo design. I definitely agree the woman could be larger (I didnt really see it until I was committed and used the ribbon to give her space more weight) if it were to be an actual tattoo but overall its for my portfolio for when/if I shop for apprenticeships.

It looks good regardless man, the art and patience shows.
I just assumed this was the typical thigh or upper arm piece design.

Its definitely meant to mimic that (well beyond my abilities as a tattooer) and the feedback was very valid for that.

Always make sure you have a focal point in the tattoo.
It helps to pick one aspect of the sleeve that you want to stand out and kind of make it "larger"-ish than the rest of it.

Think of like composition on a canvas, except instead of just paper or duck canvas, you're using the flow of their body.
