Hey! So i'm intrested in Buning the cheyenne hawk pen. Since i bought a cheapass set and i am not really comfy with. Yeah i know its still cause i am a beginner! But i went in a tattoo supply shop and was feeling the machine ect. The guy told me its nice since the weight is nice balanced and not at the back of your hand. Everyones choice but if you think it suits you better then go for it.

Now he also told me there is not really things like modify like other machines. Like i have now. Just pick your needle, pick your volts turn the pen for needle depth and go. Maby i like that better since there is much little hustle.

Who got experience with this machine?

And does anyone knows if you can easily fit in other brands of cartridges?

And can i use another power dupply instead of the one that they try to sell with? Since the one from cheyenne is expensive as....

I forgot to ask him...

There you have a great forum for reviews on rotaries. Last time i read about the hawk pen as well as others i decided to wait with ordering one. They seem to have different issues that at least I wouldn't be able to fix myself. Even if I like the idea of tattooing with a pen, the machine have to work too.

all machines will work with virtually all power supplies, although with digital power supplies with cycle and amps etc showing on screen (like this type http://cheshirecatsupplies.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/HP2-BLACK_03.jpg) you may have problems with rotaries if you run over 7 to 8 volts, they tend to top the cycle meter and cut off the supply so you have to hit the pedal again. Doesnt happen with all of them, but still a possibility.

I have the Cheyenne pen and yes all types of cartridges fit into it and work fine ,also it comes with a extra cable that is supposed to kick start the power so you can use it with other power supplies,Critical power supplies have that boost function built into them also ,it's a great machine and I would recommend it to anybody that likes that style of machine ,Cheyenne only recommends that you use there carts other wise they say it voids there warranty so do your self a favour and buy a couple of boxes of there carts so you can provide proof that you use there carts but at the end of the day how can they prove that you weren't using there products ,I use Ez carts and have never had a problem
