A couple of years ago it was pretty well documented that eternal lining ink was prone to spreading under the skin. I saw it on some forums and Google searches. When I visited AJs he advised me that the pigment had been ground too thin so was prone to spread in the capillaries of the skin. Some of my early work I did with eternal lining ink before I was advised about it has spread out. I recently bought the eternal basic colour pack from barber and it contains the lining black. I've used it for shading but I won't put lines in with it.

So does anybody know if they sorted it out ? Do you use it ? Does it spread ?

Thanks

Ade

I shade with straight black a lot and just dip down in the rinse cup. I've used it for that and mixed it in with the eternal colours with no problems so far. I want to use it up due to the short date but I won't line with it untill somebody assures me eternal have sorted it out.

Hi Adrian!
I'm use triple & lining black by eternal always. (first time i use intenze black, was horroristic)
This is Eternal lining black (lining & filling) & talens wash, for example.:

http://helpmetattoo.com/forums/threads/tribal-sun.8014/

I'm doesn't take too much tattoo with it (5-6 pieces), but never was blowout for me. I saw other forums few guys suck with it, but i think these blowouts the results of wrong technics.
Some places i've read don't proposed for the beginners. (horse sh.t.)
That's my opinion certainly...

I did my thigh with Eternal Lining....then promptly shat myself when I read on some forums (like you) shortly after about it spreading.

Luckily it never did though so I would assume it's been sorted out - plus Eternal would have too much to lose if they didn't fix it! If in doubt though, well you know the score!

seriously the only thing with stuff like this is people make bullshit up, don't believe what you hear until you've experienced it i say, lots of rumours like this

for example wet healing/dry healing so many rumours, experiment for yourself and see what you think, i've had 1st hand experiences that wet healing makes tattoos heal slightly lighter so i know that by trial and error

i line with silverback stupid black, it's insanely thin but it heals very dark and stays good, i guess it's how you use it? try it is all i can say, maybe do some lines on yourself and monitor them then you'll know the truth mate

i think a lot of it can be down to depth, if the ink isn't in the dermis it can travel, i know the internet can be full of crap and people can say what they want, without any substance behind it but in a case like this i fully agree with adrian, i remember AJ telling me of a case he had but at the time when i asked him what did he think it was, he didn't know, also this doesn't always happen over night, it can be a few years down the line so you could use it now but not get the back lash until some time down the line, for how much it costs, it just isn't worth it.

I have personal experience of this in that lines i put in 18 months ago with 3s and 5s now look like they were put in with 7s and 9s. I took photos of all off the tattoos back then and none of them blew out. The ink spread takes time. Putting a few lines into my leg won't help for another year untill I'm happy it won't spread. So it's wasn't BS or is it now.
