When Heather became interested in becoming a tattoo artist, she was already working full-time in another career to support her family. Learning online gave her the flexibility she needed to start her tattoo career and build a brand as a fine-line tattoo artist.
Carving Out a Space in the Tattoo Industry
Heather, a working mother with a full-time job - and a new home to pay for - didn’t have the time or extra money to do a traditional unpaid tattoo apprenticeship.
She had always juggled her passion for art with her other responsibilities, but it wasn’t until 2020 that Heather realized that tattooing might be the opportunity she’d been looking for to make money through art while also keeping a steady paycheck.
When she came across the Artist Accelerator Program while searching online, it seemed like the ideal opportunity. She could learn at home on her own time without taking risks with her family’s future.Heather's Tattooing Journey
Starting with no tattooing experience, Heather began her journey through the Artist Accelerator Program. The structure of the course allowed her to build a strong foundation in tattooing techniques.
Slowly transitioning from theory to practice, she began tattooing part-time. She started with smaller tattoos, allowing herself to become comfortable working on clients, and gradually took on more intricate designs as her confidence and skill level grew.
Over time, Heather built a loyal clientele. Satisfied customers and word of mouth played a crucial role in expanding her portfolio. The consistent positive feedback and referrals were a testament to the quality of her work and her dedication to the craft.Becoming a Fine-Line Specialist
Partnering with a well-known permanent makeup artist in the area, she found herself tattooing in The Blush Artistry, a studio that buzzed with creativity and clients.
Heather quickly noticed a trend in her city - small, intricate, and delicate tattoos. She began to specialize in fine-line tattooing, and this specialization set her apart from other artists in her area, creating a niche demand for her work.
As her reputation grew, so did her client list. Heather's calendar began to fill up quickly, with bookings stretching out three months in advance. Tattooing 4-5 days a week, the demand for her unique style became so overwhelming that she had to close her books. She then introduced a system of tattoo request forms, allowing clients to join a waiting list that continues to grow with excited customers.

Begin Your Journey as a Tattoo Artist With the Artist Accelerator Program
Having a career in tattooing is not only fulfilling, but it’s also the most stable way to make a living as an artist. However, for decades, the process to become a tattoo artist has been notoriously difficult.
The apprenticeship process requires aspiring tattoo artists to work 50-60 hours a week without pay for 2-4 years. That, combined with the toxic culture of abusing apprentices, makes getting into the industry almost impossible for newcomers.
That’s why we created the Artist Accelerator Program. Our online course provides a simple, structured way of learning to tattoo that has been proven to work by over 2500 successful students, with many of them having gone on to open their own shops all around the world.
Inside the program, we’ll take you through every step of the tattooing process in 9 clear, easy-to-follow modules and support you along the way within the Tattooing 101 Mastermind online community.
In the Mastermind group, you’ll collaborate with other students, get answers to your questions, and receive personalized video feedback on your artwork and tattoos from professional tattoo artists. With this friendly community of both new and experienced tattoo artists, you’ll never be stuck again.
When you join the Artist Accelerator Program, you’ll have instant access to the full course and the Mastermind community, as well as our 30-Day Flash Challenge and recorded interviews with tattoo artists from all over the world.
