Bronc Max Tattoo Machine Review

The Bronc Max can be a good option for a budget tattoo machine. However, it struggles to push larger liners, making it difficult to tattoo thick, bold linework.

The Bronc Max is half the price of most professional-grade machine, making it a good option for new artists still deciding whether they want to start tattooing professionally without having to make a larger up-front investment.

The Bronc Max is easy to use and set up. Cartridges click in comfortably and the voltage can go as low as 4 volts while still running consistently. However, the motor is not as powerful as a professional-grade machine, limiting needle size.

Handling (6/10)

The Bronc Max is comfortable to hold. We noticed that it was necessary to change how we tattooed to better work with the machine.
PROS:
  • Easy-to-read interface.
  • The Bronc Max is a wireless tattoo pen with a rechargeable battery.
  • The ergonomic design ensures comfort during long tattooing sessions
  • Compared to other machines on the market, the Bronc Max is at a relatively affordable price point.
CONS:
  • The machine doesn’t have the option for disposable grips.
  • Because the motor is not as strong as a professional-grade machine, it is limited to smaller liners.

Bronc Max Tattoo Machine - Our Review:

The Bronc Max tattoo machine is a great option for new artists trying to get a feel if tattooing is the right career for them. It can push small liners and performs well for stipple shading

Good Construction

The Bronc Max has a good construction that’s comfortable and easy to hold. You can easily adjust the stroke with a “click” grip, and you can change the voltage with a button on the top of the machine.

Limited Motor Capability

The Bronc Max is a good option if you want to use thin liners. However, for American Traditional tattooing, you have to slow down your handspeed to get a solid line with a 9 or 14RL.

Who the Bronc Max Is (and Isn't) For:

The Bronc Max is a good option for new artists looking for a wireless tattoo pen under $500. It can handle small tattoos and has a long battery life, between 6 and 10 hours.

However, we don’t recommend it for professional tattoo artists because of its limits when it comes to pushing larger needle groupings.

Become a Tattoo Artist With the Artist Accelerator Program

student work from the Artist Accelerator tattoo artist training programs

Having a career in tattooing is not only fulfilling, but it’s also the most stable way to make a living as an artist. However, for decades, the process to become a successful tattoo artist has been notoriously difficult.

The apprenticeship process requires aspiring tattoo artists to work 50-60 hours a week without pay for 2-4 years. That, combined with the toxic culture of abusing apprentices, makes getting into the industry almost impossible for newcomers.

That’s why we created the Artist Accelerator Program. Our online course provides a simple, structured way of learning to tattoo that has been proven to work by over 2500 successful students, with many of them having gone on to open their own shops all around the world.

Inside the program, we’ll take you through every step of the tattooing process in 9 clear, easy-to-follow modules and support you along the way within the Tattooing 101 Mastermind online community.

In the Mastermind group, you’ll collaborate with other students, get answers to your questions, and receive personalized video feedback on your artwork and tattoos from professional tattoo artists. With this friendly community of both new and experienced tattoo artists, you’ll never be stuck again.

When you join the Artist Accelerator Program, you’ll have instant access to the full course and the Mastermind community, as well as our 30-Day Flash Challenge and recorded interviews with tattoo artists from all over the world.
