This is just the very first stage, but i was wondering what you peeps think about adding a body mods and piercing section to the site. Here is my dilema.
I have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever regarding this, and i would hate to be blamed for bum information being given, and people getting injured as a result.

Just so that conversations and information doesn't get into the wrong hands, by being freely available to users and guests, i was thinking of locking the sections out behind the Premium barrier.

This is nothing at all to do with having to be a Premium member to view it, as it will take a while to build up anyway, but i was just interested in your thoughts. It will always simply be an addition to the tattoo site and will not get in the way of it at all.

I dont just want to jump in if it simply isnt worth it.

Thanks for your input, its appreciated.

I like piercing. Have done about a handful of piercings and maybe if more members are interested it would be something to consider.

Lucy,
Can't speak for anybody other than myself on this, I'm not really interested in body mod/piercing. i think they already have sites/forums on these subjects. you know how fickle the tattoo world can be and people are going to always complain.

i think it's a great idea, i spent over £400 on a piercing course and trust me, it was hands on from the moment i got their, i did over 35 piercings in two days but didn't say anything on here because i thought someone had mentioned it before but it was rejected, to me any one man band tattooist is mad if they don't do piercing, if you charge around £15 per piercing your profit is about £14.10 and thats using titanium.

Not into piercing myself but it does go hand in hand with tattooing so would make sense to include.
As per your concern, i think you would need a handfull of semi experienced peeps within the community first tho so that dangerous advise isnt given.

i understand your concern graham and i'v seen some really bad things on youtube, before i went on the course but most of the health and safety is the same as tattooing so most people on here already know that part of things and it should work the same as the tattooing where their will enough experience on here to put people right if they have been misinformed, it could even work the other way by bringing people to the forum who just do piercing but then get interested in tattooing but just didn't know that their was a place like this that they could trust, i even thought that some of the older members such myself, with no chance of an apprenticeship could use piercing as a foot in the door, there is a lot of ways to look at it but i would like to see it given a chance.

Tattooing and piercing does go hand in hand.most if not all studios have both in these days.the way the world runs these days with campaigns to stop at home tattooists on fb and other sites.if this site or any other site on tattooing, piercing or body mod gives out dodgy info it causes harm to the site.most bad tattoos can be fixed, think the same about piercing but as I know zero about this then I can't be 100% that it can be fixed, but if some sap decides he/she can do body mods and start cutting flesh and craving designs into people as a art form then this can't be healthy to this or any site as when it goes tits up the forum/site will suffer.but give the piercing ago and leave the body mod out of it.just my thoughts

Interesting idea as I had just started a thread asking about body modification yesterday :) I don't do piercing or any other body moding at the moment other than tattooing but wondered if anyone else on here did, so it would be interesting to have a section to at least ask questions if anyone does have knowledge in these areas, I'm looking into the possibility of branding but would make sure I got some expert advice from someone who is experienced before attempting anything like this just the same as when I started tattooing.

You just love trouble don't you Lucy!

Don't you get pulled over the coals by enough people moaning about HMT - Help me body pierce and Help me body mod (joke) will only get you into more doo doo with the haters.

I think its a great idea though being on this side of the fence, Although Learning to pierce a tounge from behind a computer seems crazy to me - but thats just because its new and something that never crossed my mind before. Its no more insane than HMT, but like you said, knowing jack about it is the difference.

Def premium only, I swear if I was 13 again I'd be googling some stupid stuff like 'How do I pierce my own tounge)

An 18 year old I know just pierced her own septum - lol

I used a 1.5mm biopsy punch and then put the anchor in.i pinch the skin and make the hole with the biopsy punch then I put the anchor in. Not all three at once

what i mean is, how do you pinch the skin on your wrist and use a demal punch at the same time, you would need three hands, or did someone else pinch it for you.

I may be speaking out of turn here but I think the confusion is that you think they did these piercings on themself, I'm not sure but I think they are just piercings they have done not necessarily on themselves they might have been done on someone else hence no problem pinching the skin.

Oh no this is on my neice. Both the face and the wrist. When I did the one on myself I used a clamp to pinch the skin. Unfortunately I don't have that dermal piercing anymore cause I got it caught on my back pack. Ouch. Won't do it there again. Lol but yeah just a clamp when I do it on myself. When I say clamp I mean something that looks like a clothes pin

The new section has been added. There is just a single area. We can add categories if and when things build up a bit in there. Thanks for your thoughts.
