Guide inking the needle right

I have a question that i cant seem to find the answer to. Honestly thought it would have been asked by more ppl.
I see alot of the bits have the hole in top, im just curious it for putting the ink into, mind you this is a stick and poke. I havent done it but im curious to try. i figured i would ask if anyone else has before i do and it becomes a waste.

Hello Rob, I've done quite a lot of hand poking but I don't understand your question (could be due to language, I'm swedish). What "bits" are you talking about?

Same here....don't quite understand what the "bit" is....when I first read your question I was assuming you are talking about the end of the needle tube or cartridge that has holes in them. All I can say is to disregard those holes, put your ink into an ink cup, and then dip your needle into the ink, that's all you need to do.
