Here is one I did on myself about 3 months ago. Low front of shin.
tattoo i did a days ago and yes i did leave a few spots out in the black as in my friend wanted it to look like it was branded
first tattoo i ever did was on my wife with a chinese machine that took me forever to tune after constant reading and reading and watching utube videos..also done with cheap chinese ink
secound tattoo i did on my wife with danny fowler machines and using eternal ink
here are a few more...as i only been tattooing for about 4 months now..but i have been getting restless nights of reading and watching and reading and watching alot of videos...all i will say is keep gaining knowledge..it helped allot, but i will also say that i have ALLOT more to learn..

Heres my first attempt, Its a work in progress, laying in some tones using colour mixes, then going to let it all heal before adding the true colours, its not a dragon by the way, its the world serpent of norse mythology. Will be orange, yellows, and red colours for the serpent, and sea greens/blues with some whites for the waves with some sort of fades and colours in the background, touch of smoke etc etc lol

Why do u think its fucked up looks pretty good man how did you get those diffrent tones like in the blue for instance did u use two diff color blues or did u dilute the same color blue with water or white ink or wat
This atrocious thing I did last night ? oh my god. I was so desperate to cover the damn anchor. I just couldn't sustain sitting in a position to tattoo my ankle and had to throw the towel in prematurely because the pain in my hip and knee was indescribable, it took me 5 minutes to straighten my leg ?

I'll get my first self-tattoo soon (I'm still thinking about the best design) but I will like to get some advice about the best area to tattoo yourself to not get too much pain (I know that depends on the person) and to have a 'good' posture to be able to work properly. Thanks in advance
As far as pain goes, personally I am usually to focused on tattooing to really notice the pain. For placement pick a spot that’s easy to hideHi everybody!

I started on my upper legs. A good place to practice stretching, since it’s a bouncy area.As for posture... I never manage to keep a proper posture when tattooing myself. Have to constantly twist and turn to get the angles to tattoo...

Know what you mean a bout going too dark though, I did that on my first tattoo i ever did, a rose on my thigh (the leaves are too dark):
I've added some white in the rose - complete failure, if it shows at all it's more a tint of nicotine. I added white in the leaves also, which worked better. I will experiment with the white again on it, adding more white in the leaves especially. Could be something for you too?
I think - when well performed - it also can add a bit of a 3D feeling.

this tattoo I did free hand and I got my love /girlfriend DEZ to do some of it as well as she did the paw print in the center of the peace tho I my self

so what do u think also the hornd skull on my arm is presd in cuz i was laing on that arm beforehand of the pic I took and this one I did in 2015 with a knock off dragon fly roto machine and home made carbon ink plus I faded it and made it look old intentionally so it looks like it's from the 80's or 90's

xstorm97 these tattoos are very troubled. You are having Issues on all areas of tattooing. You really should take some time and learn more and practice more on mediums OTHER than human skin. Every one of those are scarred and not healing correctly at all. I am not trying to be an a@@hole, its just true and if you want to get better you are at the right place. It sounds like you are liking the info you are finding here. Believe me therre are a lot of knowledgable people on here that can help. So do not take any criticisms the wrong way. Just learn and get better.

This is my first one I did when I was 12 years old (underneath the traditional panther outline). I used one of my moms sewing needles, thread wrapped around the tip, and India ink I stole from art class. Lol I don’t know what it is but I know the yin yang circle was done by tracing around a quarter.
Old school for sure ???
